The Starcrest transfer station at 11601 Starcrest Drive is owned by the City of San Antonio, and for a long time it was run under contract by Texas Disposal Systems - which is why it is still widely listed under the TDS name, including in our own listing title.
That arrangement has ended. On its own corporate policy site, Texas Disposal Systems states that it operated the city-owned Starcrest station from 1998 until 30 September 2025, and describes the wider disposal partnership with the city in the past tense. We have not been able to establish from any published source who runs the site today, or what it charges the public.
Because of that we are not printing a rate, an opening time or an acceptance list for this address. Any figure we carried would be describing an operator who has left.
Call 3-1-1 first, or 210-207-6000 if you are dialling from outside San Antonio, and establish the position before loading anything. Residential solid waste customers of the city have a free alternative in the municipal bulky waste network, which requires photo identification together with a CPS Energy statement showing the Environmental Fee has been paid. Of those, Bitters on Wurzbach Parkway is the closest to this address.
We will re-check this listing once the city or the incoming contractor publishes something. If you have used the gate recently and know what happens there now, the report link on this page goes straight to us.
