Skyline is a WM-owned Type I municipal landfill on North Central Street in Ferris, about twenty minutes south of central Dallas, and whether it costs you anything depends entirely on which side of the Ferris city line your rubbish came from.

The City of Ferris has a written agreement with Waste Management of Texas, and the city's own code puts it plainly. Under Ferris Code section 52.06, any resident or residential property owner in the city has free access to Skyline for garbage, bulky waste and construction debris generated inside the corporate limits. That is unusually broad - construction debris is normally the first thing a free municipal allowance excludes. A 2025 amendment to the agreement widened it further so that every household in the growing city is covered rather than a fixed list. Businesses and commercially zoned properties are treated separately and lose the free allowance above sixty uncompacted yards a week on 30-yard roll-offs, or thirty-two yards on 8-yard front-loads.

Neighbouring Wilmer has its own arrangement here rather than a landfill of its own: Wilmer residents get one free drop-off a month of up to three cubic yards, roughly a pickup load, on production of a valid ID and their most recent utility bill. It is residential waste only, and an uncovered load will be charged.

If you are not covered by either arrangement, we cannot tell you what you will pay, because WM publishes no gate rate for Skyline and we will not print a guess. Ring the gatehouse on (972) 842-5886 before you load. WM's own facility data lists residential hand-unload hours of Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm and Saturday 6am to noon, which is the window to aim for; the site is a single controlled gate with a staffed gatehouse, so turning up outside those hours means turning round.
