Republic Services operates this landfill on the eastern edge of San Antonio at 7000 IH 10 East, off Interstate 10, and it receives both residential and commercial loads.
A correction first, because it costs money at the scale. An earlier version of this listing said residents could show a CPS Energy bill with matching photo identification to qualify for a residential rate here. That rule belongs to a different facility — the Nelson Garden brush recycling centre on Nelson Road, now managed by Atlas Organics — and it has been removed. Do not arrive expecting it.
Republic publishes no gate rates for this site anywhere public, and there is no facility-specific page on the company website, only a searchable locator. Ring the scale house on (210) 661-7558 for the current charge before you set out. Loads are weighed, so what you pay depends on what is on the trailer.
Opening hours deserve the same caution. The City of San Antonio lists the site as running Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Republic's own business listings show a later start and an earlier finish — 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two disagree and neither carries a date, so treat the narrower window as the safe one and confirm by telephone.
The facility accepts municipal solid waste, household rubbish, bulky items and construction and demolition debris. Hazardous waste is not taken.
Two further numbers worth having: the site office is (210) 661-4104 and Republic customer service is (210) 304-2700.
