The Paris Landfill lies out in rural Lamar County at Powderly, north of Paris itself. Directory listings place it on County Road 33915 while the state environmental regulator and federal greenhouse gas reporting both record the address as County Road 33900; the two numbering systems refer to the same site, but it is worth allowing for the discrepancy if you are following a map. The facility is operated by WM, formerly Waste Management.
The site is active. Federal greenhouse gas reporting shows it filing as an operating municipal landfill, with methane and combustion emissions logged for the most recent reporting year — a useful independent confirmation that the gate has not quietly closed, which is not something a directory entry can tell you.
What WM does not do is publish anything about using it. The company operates a drop-off locator rather than individual facility pages carrying rates, and we could find no published gate price, minimum charge, opening schedule or accepted-materials list issued by the operator for this site. This page previously showed a generic acceptance list taken from a statewide permit index; that has been removed, because a permit list is not the operator and cannot tell you what happens at the scale house.
Ring 903-739-2673 before travelling. The questions worth asking are whether the site takes self-hauled loads from members of the public, what the minimum charge is, whether a hard hat or high-visibility vest is required, and what payment is accepted. It is also worth confirming that public access has not been restricted, as WM has closed several of its Texas landfills to walk-up traffic while continuing to serve contracted haulers. Residents inside the Paris city limits should check the city's own sanitation arrangements first, as kerbside and collection-station options may already cover the material.
