Precinct 4's centre on Roberts Road in New Caney is a sorted-recyclables site and nothing more. There is no charge to Montgomery County residents, and equally there is no household rubbish disposal here — the roll-off containers are for the four listed streams only, and a mixed load will be turned away at the gate.

Sort before you arrive into cardboard; plastics coded 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7, with no bags, film or polystyrene; aluminium and metal cans, rinsed clean; and paper, meaning newspaper, office paper, junk mail, school paper and magazines. Recyclables brought in plastic garbage bags cannot be accepted at all, so tip them loose into the containers.

What the precinct will not take is a long list: unsorted household garbage, appliances, furniture including televisions and monitors, tyres, glass, yard trimmings and polystyrene. For those, the precinct's own page points people to the WM Security Landfill at 19428 Highway 105 East in Cleveland, on (281) 592-3543, where ordinary gate charges apply.

Times to note: the gates are open from 7am to 4pm Monday through Thursday, then close early at 1:30pm on Friday. Be aware of a conflict here — Montgomery County's central recycling page still states that the precinct site is closed on Fridays altogether, while the precinct's own page publishes the Friday morning window. The precinct page is the operator's and is the one we have followed. The area is under video surveillance and illegal dumping is prosecuted.
