Opened in 2017 as a joint effort between the City of Conroe and Montgomery County, this centre on West Wally Wilkerson Parkway is run by the county's Precinct One commissioner. Staff will help you unload. Almost everything it accepts is free — the single exception is tyres.

Tyre disposal is charged by size and by whether the rim is still on. Passenger and light truck tyres off the rim are $4.00; on the rim they are $9.00. Heavy and commercial truck tyres cost $10.00 off the rim and $15.00 on it. Crucially, tyre fees are payable by credit card only, service fees apply, and cash is not accepted at all — a detail worth knowing before you drive over with a boot full of tyres and a wallet full of notes.

The accepted list is unusually broad for a free site. Household appliances go in, including refrigerators, freezers, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, air-conditioning units and water heaters, though water softeners are refused. So do antifreeze; lead, alkaline and dry cell batteries but not lithium-ion; used oil, diesel, hydraulic and transmission fluid and peanut oil, free of water and debris, with a call ahead for anything over five gallons; and electronics from computers and laptops to CRT monitors, printers, fax machines, televisions and disc players, though not speakers. Glass food and beverage containers, steel and tin cans, aluminium beverage cans, paper, flattened cardboard and rigid plastics apart from number 6 round it out.

Everything must be sorted by type, cleaned, and free of food and liquid residue before you arrive. Weekday operation runs from 8am to 4:30pm, with the site shut at weekends and on all county holidays. The current brochure is dated 1 October 2025. Office: (936) 539-7911.
