Brenham's Citizens Collection Station at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road is a full-service collection and transfer station operated by BVR Waste and Recycling, not by the city directly. It is open to the public, handles 90 to 100 tons a day, and everything that arrives is compacted into transfer trailers and hauled to the Twin Oaks Landfill at Carlos.

The rate schedule took effect on 1 October 2025 and is charged by weight. Compatible waste is $70.00 per ton at the in-city rate, with out-of-city rates negotiable. Non-compatible waste — material needing separate handling — is $95.00 per ton, reduced to $45.00 per ton for City of Brenham loads. Brush is much cheaper: $30.00 per ton for residential with a $5.00 minimum, or $55.00 per ton for commercial with a $55.00 minimum. Tyres are priced individually at $8.00 for 15-inch and smaller, $18.00 for 16-inch, and $75.00 for tractor tyres, with an extra $1.00 if the rim is still on. Rack-off fees of $10.00 apply to brush and debris, rising to $25.00 for shingles and other roofing materials.

The recycling drop-off works on residency. City of Brenham residents and businesses already paying for a recycling programme use it free. Everyone else in Washington County pays a one-off $65.00 per year plus tax for unlimited access, arranged through BVR.

Mulch is produced on site from ground yard waste, aged four to six months and reground into a fine dark product. It sells at $22.50 a ton double-ground, $10.00 a ton single-ground, or $2.50 for a two-cubic-foot bag.

The prohibited list is long and firmly enforced: regulated hazardous waste, PCBs, lead-acid batteries, do-it-yourself used motor oil, used oil filters, whole tyres mixed into a waste load, anything containing CFCs, liquid waste failing the paint filter test, regulated asbestos and industrial solid waste. The gate is open 8am until 5pm on weekdays and 8am until 1pm Saturdays, with no Sunday service.
