The City of Laredo Landfill sits about two miles east of the Highway 359 and Loop 20 intersection, and it is the main disposal point for Laredo and Webb County. The pricing here rewards one thing above all: going on a Saturday.

City of Laredo residents with a valid ID and a matching city utility bill pay $2.00 for a load under 2,000 pounds Monday through Friday. On Saturdays that same load is free, up to one ton. For a household clear-out, picking the right day of the week is the whole saving.

Past the first ton, weight is charged at $51.50 per ton for residents and for commercial customers inside the city. Outside the city limits but still within Webb County the rate is $86.50 per ton, and from outside Webb County it climbs to $221.50 per ton — more than four times the in-city rate.

An uncovered load carries a $10.00 surcharge. Tarping is the cheapest ten dollars you will ever save.

Tires have their own schedule. Residents can bring up to four passenger tires a day at no cost with ID and a matching utility bill. Commercial accounts pay $2.00 per passenger tire, and 18-wheeler tires are $6.00 each whether residential or commercial. Tractor-trailer and other special sizes are charged at $100.00 per ton.

Yard trimmings are free for residents provided the load arrives covered and clean — no plastic bags, rocks or dirt mixed in. Free mulch is available at the landfill, and the city runs a household hazardous waste drop-off here for batteries, computers, paint and similar material. Residential used motor oil is accepted; commercial is not.

Construction and demolition or other inert waste from customers not paying city garbage fees starts at a $35.00 minimum for up to 5 cubic yards, then $7.00 for each additional cubic yard.
