Garden-Ville Evans Road, at 7561 E Evans Rd on the far north-east edge of San Antonio, is run by Garden-Ville, the composting arm of Texas Disposal Systems. Despite turning up in searches for dumps, it is not one. It is a brush tipping site, and clean brush is the only thing it will take.
The rate is $85.00 per ton with a one-ton minimum, so even a small trailer of limbs costs $85.00 plus sales tax. That makes it poor value for a light load and reasonable for a genuinely large one.
The penalty for getting the load wrong is severe and worth reading twice: a contamination fee of $300.00 is applied to any load found to contain trash, dirt, treated wood or other unacceptable material. A few bin bags mixed in with the branches, or fence posts that turn out to be treated, and an $85.00 trip becomes a $385.00 one.
Opening times are narrow. Brush tipping runs 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and the site is closed both Saturday and Sunday. Older published rate cards showed a Saturday morning session; TDS's current gate rates page does not, so treat weekends as shut.
If what you actually have is household waste, furniture or construction debris, this is the wrong gate entirely. San Antonio residential customers can use the city's free bulky waste collection centers with a CPS Energy bill and photo ID, and the city's brush centre at Bitters charges by the twenty-pound increment rather than by the ton.
