Read this one before you drive. The City of Dayton's own public works pages no longer describe a citizens' dump at all, and the annual permit prices this listing used to carry could not be confirmed against any current city source.

Those figures — a $50.00 yearly permit for residents under 65, $35.00 for seniors, single-use visits invoiced against a photo identification — trace to local news coverage of a council decision in March 2021. That is five years old and it is a newspaper, not the city. Under our own rules a fee has to be readable on the operator's live page today, so we have taken the numbers down rather than leave them sitting under a confident heading.

What the city does publish now is different in kind. Its trash collection page covers kerbside service through Frontier Waste Solutions, pink tags at $5.00 per extra bag, additional carts at $6.83 a month, and a Wednesday bulk trash day. Prominently placed on the same page is a panel pointing residents to the Liberty County Citizen Collection Center.

That may mean the arrangement has changed, or simply that the city has stopped publishing the detail. We cannot tell which from the outside, and we are not going to guess.

Ask specifically whether a permit is still sold, what it costs now, and whether the site you are thinking of is city or county run.
