Mission keeps a self-service brush and bulky waste area at 1400 South Conway Avenue, alongside the Mission Hike and Bike Trail, and it is free to city residents. You will be asked to prove you live in Mission — a utility bill or a driver licence with a Mission address does it — and you unload the vehicle yourself.

The site is for householders, full stop. Landscapers and contractors are excluded, and the city is explicit that only material originating from your own home is accepted. That rules out a neighbour's brush pile and anything brought in from outside the city.

Brush means tree limbs and shrubbery no longer than ten feet and no thicker than eight inches in diameter, plus bagged leaves and lawn trimmings. Bulky means furniture, appliances with no freon in them, mattresses, and anything else too large for a wheeled bin. If you are bringing both, the bulky items have to go in a separate pile from the brush rather than mixed in together.

Several things are not accepted at all: tyres, loose garbage, glass and car parts; construction, demolition or remodelling debris, along with brick, concrete and dirt; and household chemicals, paint or any other hazardous waste. Refrigerant appliances need degassing before they will be taken.

Access is available six days a week — 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and a half day on Saturday from 8am to noon — according to the sanitation department's own flyer. A separate 2026 city announcement about storm brush gave the weekday close as 4:30pm, so allow for the earlier time if you are cutting it fine.
