The Anahuac Citizen's Collection Station at 1811 Belton Lane is one of a network Chambers County runs for its residents, and the county's own directory gives its hours as Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm, with Sunday closed. Nine hours a day, six days a week makes this one of the more generously open sites in the state. The solid waste department answers on 409-267-8202.

Access turns on a permit rather than a payment at the gate. Chambers County operates a disposal permit system, and the sticker is what establishes you as an eligible resident bringing waste from your own home. Without it you are not getting in, and the permit is obtained through the county rather than at the collection station itself. Commercial drop-off is not allowed here at all.

This station is one of several. The county also runs sites at Beach City on Lawrence Road, at Cove, at Oak Island and at Smith Point, plus Double Bayou on Eagle Ferry Road which opens only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday between 10am and 6pm. Separately there is the county landfill at 7505 Highway 65, open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 3.30pm, which is where larger loads and material the collection stations refuse are meant to go.
