The Mexia Landfill lies out on Limestone County Road 460, a few miles from Mexia itself in the rolling country between Waco and Corsicana. It is a Republic Services site, and older paperwork still refers to it under the BFI Waste Systems name that Republic absorbed years ago.
Republic publishes no price list for this facility. Enquiries about its Texas disposal sites are pushed to an online site-finder and a phone line instead of a published rate card, which means the tonnage charge, the minimum and the way small loads are assessed all have to be established by ringing 254-562-3889 before you travel. The acceptance list this page used to show was lifted from a statewide permit index and has now been taken down, since a permit register says nothing about what actually happens at the weighbridge.
Two practical warnings are worth passing on, both drawn from what visitors consistently report rather than from the operator. The first is protective equipment: people arriving with ordinary pickup loads describe being told they need a high-visibility vest and a hard hat, available for purchase on site if you turn up without them. The second is more serious — at least one Limestone County resident has described being turned away despite holding a Mexia water bill, which suggests access may be narrower than a member of the public would assume from the name on the gate.
Take both as reasons to telephone first rather than as settled fact. The questions worth asking are whether self-haul loads from the public are accepted at all, what the minimum charge is, whether vest and hard hat are mandatory, and what payment methods the scale house takes. Householders in Mexia should also check what the city's own public works department offers on South Belknap Street, as municipal arrangements may cover the material more cheaply and with fewer conditions.
