Known to the city as the Southwest Transfer Station and to most locals as Oak Cliff or simply Westmoreland, this site sits at 4610 S. Westmoreland Road. Its schedule mirrors Fair Oaks: a narrow weekday slot from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., a full Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and nothing on Sunday.

Access is residential only. Trade waste is not accepted here under any circumstances, so contractors need McCommas Bluff or a private facility.

Eligible householders pay nothing. The qualifying vehicle list is the same across all three Dallas transfer stations - car, station wagon, pickup, or a trailer measuring less than fifteen feet - and the material must have come from your own address. Bring a valid driving licence for entry, and prove Dallas residency with either a Dallas address printed on that licence or a current city water bill in your own name.

Accepted here: general household waste, recyclables, scrap metal, grass clippings, electronics brought by residents, and a maximum of six tyres per resident each year, subject to a 25-inch diameter limit.

Turned away: fridges, freezers and air-conditioning units; rock, brick, concrete and soil; and all chemicals, paint and hazardous material. One further thing worth knowing about this station and Fair Oaks - in bad weather the city closes both while keeping Bachman and McCommas Bluff running, so check city notices before setting out on a doubtful Saturday.
