The ECD Landfill occupies the northbound Interstate 45 service road just outside Ennis, at 5703 North Interstate 45 Service Road in Ellis County. It is a Republic Services facility, and it sits within a short distance of a second Republic site, the Ellis County Landfill at 5871 on the same service road — worth knowing, because the two are easily confused and satellite navigation will happily take you to the wrong gate.
Republic does not publish a price list, an opening schedule or an accepted-materials list for ECD on its own website. Like most of the company's Texas disposal sites it appears only through a facility locator, with enquiries routed to a telephone number rather than to a published rate card. That is a commercial choice on the operator's part, and while it is frustrating for anyone trying to plan a trip, it is not something we will paper over with an estimate.
This page previously carried a generic acceptance list covering household waste, bulky items and yard waste. That text originated in a statewide permit index rather than with Republic, so it has been taken down. What we can say with confidence is the operator's identity and the site's location; what we cannot say is what it will cost you or whether the gate is open to a member of the public arriving with a pickup load.
Telephone 972-875-5374 before setting out. Ask three specific questions: whether the site accepts self-haul loads from the public at all, what the minimum charge is, and what forms of payment are taken at the scale house. Householders around Ennis, Waxahachie and Ferris who want a published price before they load a trailer will find municipal sites in the area more transparent, and several of the nearby city-run facilities post their fee schedules openly.
