This brush recycling centre at 8963 Nelson Road is now managed and operated by Atlas Organics, and the city's 311 service records it under the name Nelson Garden / Atlas Organics. We have kept the older name on this page because that is what people search for, but the operator has changed and it matters for what you will pay.
It is no longer one of the City of San Antonio's own brush sites. As of July 2026 the city lists a single municipal brush centre, Bitters on Wurzbach Parkway, and Nelson Road is not it. Any figure you see quoted as the city's brush rate belongs to Bitters, not here.
Atlas Organics does not publish gate rates. What the city does record is the eligibility split: bring a CPS Energy bill together with a photo ID that matches it and you are charged the residential rate; turn up without that paperwork and you pay commercial rates. The 311 entry also notes specifically that the commercial rates have changed, which is a good reason to ring rather than assume.
Unlike the municipal brush centre, this site does accept commercial loads, so landscapers and contractors are not shut out here the way they are at Bitters.
Opening times are wider than most: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday right through Saturday, closed Sundays. Brush is what it processes, so keep the load clean - as at every brush site in the region, mixing in trash, soil or treated timber is what turns a routine trip expensive.
