Cefe Valenzuela Landfill is out on FM 2444 at County Road 20, roughly 14 miles south-west of Corpus Christi City Hall, and it is the city's main active landfill. Fees here are charged on the scale rather than by the load, which makes a phone call worthwhile before any large job.
No public tonnage figure exists for this site. Tipping is assessed on scale weight, and the floor charge is unpublished as well. Both are worth confirming by phone rather than guessing — on a heavy load the difference between an assumed rate and the real one is not trivial.
There is one charge that is published, and it is entirely avoidable: a $15.00 fee may be applied at the entrance to any load arriving uncovered. City compliance officers can also issue a citation for an uncovered load on the way there. Tarp before you leave and neither applies.
Household garbage and general municipal solid waste are the core of what goes through here, along with brush.
Non-commercial construction material is accepted, and the city spells out what that means: lumber, plywood, sheet-rock, roofing materials, general demolition waste, dirt and remodelling waste. What it explicitly does not include is rock, concrete and brick, all three of which are excluded from that category. If your load is mostly rubble, confirm before driving out.
One thing not to drive here for: the city's free mulch is handed out at the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station, not at this landfill. Elliott runs that Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
