How a fee earns its place on this site.
Our whole value is that our numbers are real. These are the rules every fee, listing and guide must pass — no exceptions.
The five rules
Source or silence
Every fee is taken from an official source — the facility’s posted fee schedule, or its city or county’s published record — and the listing links to it. A statewide permit list is not a source. If no price is published, we write “call to confirm.” We never guess.
Dated, never hidden
Every fee carries a “Last verified” date showing exactly when we last read the source. You always know how fresh a number is.
Re-checked in batches — and always before publishing
Rates change without notice. Anything about to be published is re-verified within days of going live, and we work back through the existing listings in batches, correcting what we find. The “Last verified” date on a fee is the honest record of when that number was last read at its source — not a claim that every page on the site was checked this week.
Independent, always
Facilities do not pay to be listed, and no one can pay to change a fee. If we ever carry advertising or sponsored placements, they are labelled and never touch the data.
Corrections, fast and visible
When a reader or facility reports an error, we re-check the source and update the listing — including the new verification date — usually within a few days.
What our numbers are — and aren’t
Fees on this site are the posted rates at the time we verified them. They are a planning tool, not a quote. Facilities can change prices, hours and accepted items at any time, so always call ahead before hauling a load. Our fee estimates and tools are approximate and never a substitute for the facility’s own confirmation.
